ORIGIN
Remains have been found that indicate that in Farasdués there was a population settlement in prehistoric times. Archaeological sites from Roman times have also been found. However, it is in the thirteenth century when there are already testimonies that speak of Farasdués properly as a people.
ARTISTIC HERITAGE
CHURCH OF OUR LADY OF HOPE
It is a building of ashlar stone, very severe and of great proportions, with a portico covered with a star-shaped rib vault, a Renaissance portal, in a semicircular arch, framed between two Corinthian columns that support an entablature crowned with a body closed by a pediment. It has a tower at the foot, next to the epistle, with a square plan, of great height and with three bodies separated by an impost. The two basses are the same and the third separated from the previous one by an entablature with triglyphs and metopes, these are decorated with rosettes, the edges killed, adorning with pinnacles and finishing with a pyramidal capital. The interior of the temple has a rectangular plan, with a polygonal apse and a transept. It is covered with a star-shaped ribbed vault, with three sections and the apse; and in the same way the chapels of the transept. The ribs of the vaults come down on smooth, inverted trunconic brackets. It has a choir on the feet of half-timbered wood, supported by menus and a low arch with Gothic molding. The church corresponds to the middle of the 16th century.
There are very interesting altarpieces from the 16th to the 18th century:
- Altarpiece of Saint Ana
- Main Altarpiece
- Altarpiece of the Virgin of Pilar
- Altarpiece of the Virgi of the Dolores
- Altarpiece of Saint Lucia.
- CHAPEL OF SANTA OROSIA
Located 1 km from the village. It is a rectangular construction, with a flat headboard, covered by semicircular arches that start from the wall and wooden armor. Formerly it had a choir on the wooden framework, which today and after the restoration of the hermitage was suppressed. The altarpiece is modern and preserves a painting of the Virgin of Pilar.
ROMANESQUE BRIDGE
A few meters away and in the direction of the Old Fountain we can see “The River Bridge”, Romanesque, with two arches and built with minced and worked stone.

Crossing the Roman Bridge and along the walk along the river we arrive at “La Fuente Vieja”(The old fountain) without a doubt the pride of this town. Built in 1556 and currently restored by the Ejea town hall. This artistic fountain under a semicircular arch has the Villa’s coat of arms supported by two putti or children, with the bars of Aragon and the inscription “ANO MDLVI ARTIFICE JOHANES VELEZ”.
